Bendbook (the app) and its website are provided by SNIT ApS (CVR DK 35875263), Bragesvej 32, 8600 Silkeborg, Denmark ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, write to support@snitsoftware.dk.
This page says what the app collects and why, who processes it for us, how long it is kept and what you can do about it.
1. Summary
- No account, no sign-in. We never ask for your name, e-mail, phone number or location, and the app has no camera, microphone, contacts or photo access.
- Everything you enter stays on your phone. Your bender, your inputs, your custom benders and your saved racks and layouts are kept on the device only. We run no server that stores them.
- The app sends two kinds of anonymous data to Google: usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase) and crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics).
- The Pro purchase goes through Apple and RevenueCat. We never see your card or your Apple ID.
- No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, and we do not sell data. The app does not use your device's advertising identifier.
2. What is collected and why
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase): which screens and tools are opened, the steps of onboarding and the paywall, and whether a purchase or restore happened. Each is tied to a random app instance ID made when you install the app, not to your name or e-mail. Google also reads the device model, system version, app version, language and an approximate country from your masked IP address | to see which tools are used and where people get stuck, so we can improve the app | legitimate interest in improving the app, Art. 6(1)(f) | up to 14 months |
| Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): the crash trace, device model, system version, app version and a random installation ID | to find and fix crashes | legitimate interest in a working app, Art. 6(1)(f) | 90 days |
| Purchase status (RevenueCat, with Apple): a random anonymous user ID made by RevenueCat, your Pro purchase, and whether Family Sharing applies. No name, no e-mail, no payment details | to unlock Pro, and to restore it on your devices | contract, Art. 6(1)(b) | as long as the purchase record is needed |
The usage statistics contain what you do in the app (for example "offset opened" or "paywall closed"). They do not contain the lengths, angles, benders or sizes you type, or your saved jobs.
In version 1.0 the app has no in-app switch for the usage statistics. To ask us about them, write to support@snitsoftware.dk.
3. What stays on your phone
Your default bender and settings, your custom benders, and your saved racks and layouts are stored in the app on your device. They are not uploaded anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them. A backup of your whole phone (for example in iCloud) may hold them until that backup is replaced.
4. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU where national law requires parental consent), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
5. Who processes data for us
| Processor | What for | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC (Firebase: Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Hosting) | usage statistics, crash reports, hosting this website | United States |
| RevenueCat, Inc. | the Pro purchase and restoring it | United States |
| Apple Inc. | app distribution, payment, Family Sharing | worldwide |
6. Transfers outside the EU
Google, RevenueCat and Apple process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, and otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c)). You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format (Art. 15–21). Because the data above is tied to a random ID and not to your name, we cannot tell which records are yours unless you give us that ID. Write to support@snitsoftware.dk and we will do what is possible, and answer within one month. The statistics and crash reports expire on their own after the periods in section 2. Reinstalling the app gives it a new random ID. To remove the RevenueCat purchase record too, write to us.
You can complain to the data protection authority where you live. In Denmark that is Datatilsynet, www.datatilsynet.dk.
8. Security
Data in transit is encrypted (TLS). Because there is no account and no server of ours that stores your data, there is no database of users to breach.
9. This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking scripts. It loads its fonts from our own server, not from Google. Our hosting provider (Firebase Hosting) keeps ordinary server logs, which include your IP address, for a short time to run and protect the service.
10. Changes
We update this page when the app changes how it handles data, and change the date at the top.
